What happens when the most significant leaders of India’s retail industry meet and discuss the future of their businesses?

Opulent conversations surface, and new opportunities emerge.

The second chapter of the Bizom CPG Leadership Meet commenced last Friday in Delhi, bringing together top CXOs, for an evening filled with exciting discussions from varied perspectives and new technologies that would shape the future of Indian retail.

Shireesh Joshi, ONDC’s Chief Business Officer and President of Network Expansion, took centre stage and set the context of the evening – Omnichannel Strategies for Tomorrow’s D2C Markets.

Sharing statistics and his observations of the booming eCommerce industry in India, Shireesh shared the ten principles that would propel businesses ahead when the Indian Government makes ONDC an unmissable component in retail.

The dialogue reached higher heights as the next roundtable session began with Mahesh Kanchan – CEO of Del Monte foods, Rachit Vora – Global Amazon Business Development Manager of Royal Philips and Vikas Bagaria – founder & CEO of Pee Safe.

Vikas shared the growth and struggles of the budding brand Pee Safe, highlighting how environmental changes like Covid made the retail industry realize the need to build higher skills and capabilities to ensure operational efficiency.

Mahesh added to this thought further and told the audience how Del Monte saw a consumption shift as the HoReCa industry witnessed little to no traction in the COVID era for in-store consumption, and how the entire sector rapidly shifted towards getting food delivered at home. He also brought to light how vast the omnichannel audience is, with mothers in their old age ordering online today.

Rachit spoke to the audience about how any brand in today’s market, including renowned brands like Philips India, needs to put the consumer first and always consider the consumer as the king while building omnichannel strategies.

The discussion came to a close with the CPG Leadership Award ceremony, where the following companies were felicitated for the digital growth they are bringing into their supply chains.

The next CPG Leadership Meet will take place in Bangalore, on the 24th of June.
